The Bugaboo Donkey has so much hype surrounding it and we have put together a comprehensive review so you can decide if it really is worth that price tag.

    Single to double pushchair

The key selling point to the Donkey is the fact you can convert it from a single to a double pushchair whenever you need to. Bugaboo havce designed this aspect extremely well and the pushchair can be completely customised and configured for your needs weather you have twins or two children of different ages.

Attaching and changing between the different configurations can often be done easily and with just one hand. Each side you have the option of a carrycot, car seat or a seat and they can be arranged as front facing or facing you.

When it’s set to its single configuration the width of the Donkey matches the Bugaboo Cameleon at 60 cm. Now the interesting part is that Bugaboo has claimed this is the narrowest luxury side by side duo stroller. So we done a little digging and so far we have not found a double pushchair that’s slimmer than the Donkey – the closest came in at 84cm and the average was 104cm.

    The Donkey in action

Although the Donkey can feel a little bit heavier than other buggies we have tested it still remains a breeze to steer and manoeuvre around obstacles. The front wheels are lockable and allows you to pull the pushchair on just two wheels. They say this is perfect for snow and sand but we can see many more uses for this such as up kerbs or up and down steps. We think this is a pretty cool feature and definitely a very useful one we found during testing.

As we mentioned earlier the Donkey does have a bit of weight to it, this means when folded it can be a bit of a chore to carry it around. When it’s folded however it does manage to stand up on its own, freeing up your hands!

    Plenty of storage space

Storage is definitely not lacking in this buggy, with plenty of different configurations and the extra attachable basket gives you additional storage space. There is the usual shopping basket underneath the seat(s) as well.

Each seat has its own removable bumper bar and the one handed seat recline is a breeze to use and feels smooth.

Pros: Extremely flexible with seating and storage space, easy to manoeuvre, one handed seat recline, 2 wheel mode, very slim.

Cons: Feels a bit heavy, the price tag.
